What do you use and/or recommend?

I have the x-cut manual thing, but it's very limited on the dies and really hard to use! I'd like something that I can readily get different sized dies for and not be too expensive [the dies, I mean - not necessarily the die-cutter]. My local craft shop has cuttlebugs and something else which i can't remember the name of,  but I've heard it mentioned here a lot. Anyone?? TIA x

Crochet Crafts Forum / crocheted cow help!

 i'm stuck!

the pattern reads:
Chain 4
1) 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in middle sc, 3 sc in last ch from hook. Working along back side of chain, sc in middle sc, sc in end sc. Join to first sc. (8 sc)

the bit in bold is where i'm stuck - whats the middle sc? I only have 2 sc's there so do i do the next sc in between those 2 - which would involve going back on it... does that make sense? this is just the nose, btw. I'm new to crocheting and this is my first real pattern!

Also, this is written in American crochet terms, so sc=dc

Well, the start of it anyway. We have a thing, that cows are like a common thing for us, basically I had a cute cow emote i used on msn when talking to him and now we always say moo either when we're lost for something else to say, or we say 'moo you' for 'love you'. Just had to give some backstory so this doesn't look too random for a birthday card!

Now that Christmas has been and gone, I seem to have drawn a blank for ideas of what to do next. I have my boyfriends birthday on the 22nd, ex FIL's birthday is the 8th [but that would be a rush job], a sister on the 14th and then valentines day, but I just have no idea what to do! With the christmas stuff, I just sifted through the millions of Christmas papers, die-cuts, peel offs, etc and shoved them all together, but now it looks like I'm actually going to have to think about ideas!

But I managed to correct it every time and here is the finished project...

Knitting Crafts Forum / Granny blanket size

I'm crocheting a blanket for my DS who turns 1 next sunday. It's proably around 2ft each side at the moment, but I'm not sure how much bigger to do it. I'm thinking an extra foot all around, which means another 10-12 rounds yet - not sure I can do all that before Sunday! I wish I'd just done several smaller squares and sewn them together!

I'm not particularly active here, but I will be moreso now! It's good to be back though!!
