Eco Crafts Forum / Re: Old CDs

I made a set of earrings out of the mini cds a couple of years back. Just drilled a hole at the top of one and put a shiny hoop through it. Interesting change from your average hoop.

That really does sound like a tension problem. Its either that or something is messed up with your machine. Have you tried taking it to the shop and letting a repairman take a look at i?

Aww, its not boring at all. I have seen many tie dyes, but I have never seen tie dye nappies before. Gratzs on something unique and original. Your baby will be a superstar at the market :)

Same here. these apartments here in London are rather small for that sort of thing. We probably could find a craft store with a back room that we could use though. Places like this are usually happy to provide the space for potential customers.

General Crafts Forum / Re: Craftiest Town in the UK?

I think the whole country of England is crafty by nature, but then I see crafters as the backbone of our civilization. London has a lot of crafts, but so do some of the smaller areas as well.

My daughter is getting interested in digital artwork. I bought her one of those drawing tablets and she is busy at work learning how to produce tomorrow's masterpieces with it.

Silver clay? I've never heard of this type of clay before. Can I get a link that will tell me more about it and how to learn to use it. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Candle Crafts Forum / Re: Making Wax Moulds

Making candles is really easy if you have all the tools and materials setup to do so from start to finish. Remember the earliest candles were just dipped in wax over and over until they grew long and fat :)

Beeswax is what I prefer to make my candles out of. In my opinion it is simply the best material to work with. Although it is in many cases the most expensive as well.

Oh these sound delicious with bananas and raisins in them. I'll have to give this recipe a try in the morning when I am doing the baking for the day.

I seen a ring with artificial moss in it today on here and I was truly stunned. I had never considered plants a craft before but I guess they can be. My bonsai tree itself is an excellent craft that would have never become what it is today without my help. In fact crafting is very deep in our lives. Throughout our history crafters and builders have been responsible for building the culture we now enjoy every day of our lives.

Has anyone ever doing anything crafting with feed sacks? In case you didn't know feed sacks are those things that food used to be transported in starting around 1840 and up to and through the 1950s.

That is such a cool ring. Its not at all odd, but rather unique in my opinion. I could imagine on of the Dryads of old wearing jewelry like this except theirs would have real moss growing out of the ring. Awesome job.
