Poor boys.
And poor you, being in the middle of it all.
I don't really have experience working with youths as our children are aged 4 to 11 but we have a mix of boys and girls. We do lots of crafts but there are also the wii, tv for dvds, board games, and sports games too (we are only in a hall with no outside space but half the hall is given to sports be it football or skipping etc.)
Some boys love crafts and I have a few who love sewing with me but not silk. I use mostly felt as it is easy to sew and we only hand sew.
We do other crafts too and try to have a theme going on. This week we were making pretend aquariums out of cardboard boxes. We are very lucky as we have one male member of staff who is very popular. We work on a rotation system so that one week a member of staff will be on crafts, then the next week sports, then the next week the board games table (and mat on the floor for lego etc). So the male staff member will be on the craft table lots and sometimes this draws in the sport loving boys.
anyway none of this is much use for you but I thought I would tell you anyway.
