Rant and Rave / Awful Cust Service - Help Needed!!
« on: 25 Jun 2011 19:15 »
Right....this situation is making me FURIOUS but I'm going to try and write it out without getting too angry.

I placed an order with a UK fabric shop on the 6th May for some metreage, 2 quilting rulers (which I have been waiting AGES to be able to buy) and a layer cake of Sherbet Pips (I never buy a really good expensive fabric like but I decided to treat myself). The total order came to around £95 but I had a 20% off voucher as part of a recent competition they had run so I paid £75.

After about a week I received 2 bits of metreage and both of the rulers with an email stating that the other bits of metreage were out of stock  but would be despatched in about 10 days. The pips was pre-order. I received the rulers (24" and 12") and fabric in a plastic delivery bag with absolutely no padding and no cardboard between the rulers so inevitably one of the rulers was snapped. I emailed the store about it and waited a week for a reply. The reply basically said "well RM will just say it was insufficiently packaged which it was so Ill either replace or refund". I asked for a replacement but stated that I would be happy if they put it in with the OOS metreage to save a bit on postage for them.

On 17th May (2 days before I got a reply about the ruler) I got an email saying the Sherbet Pips had been shipped. This didnt arrive but I waited 2 weeks from it being shipped before emailing the store to say I hadnt received it (1st Jun). On the 5th June I received an email to say my other metreage had been shipped but no reply to my email of the 1st. I replied to this on the 7th asking if the package included my replacement ruler and the Sherbet Pips layer cake as I hadn't received either.

By the 9th June I still hadnt had a reply (but received the metreage with neither of my missing items in it) and visited the web store to see a notice saying that the shop was going to be on holiday from June 11th - June 19th so I emailed again stating that I had sent two emails to which I hadn't had a reply and that I wanted an email from them before the shop went on holiday to confirm that I was either receiving a replacement package or a refund.

Still no reply.

The shop came back off holiday on Monday and I still hadnt received an email so I gave 3 days grace to perhaps clear some backlog and finally emailed on Wednesday evening in which I copied and pasted the 3 emails that I had sent them and the dates. I stated that I was getting fed up having to chase them about a £75 order constantly and being ignored. I sent this in reply to the emails that the store sends to which states at the bottom please reply to this email if you have any questions. I also sent it using the contact us webform on the store page.

Guess what? I still havent heard from them.

I really have no idea of what else I can do here. The store doesnt have a phone number. I am down a ruler which cost £17.50 (less 20%) and a layer cake of Sherbet Pips costing £35 (less 20%) that will probably be out of stock everywhere else now.

Im frustrated, angry and actually pretty upset that I'm currently sitting about £50 out of pocket with absolutely NO HOPE that this is going to get resolved because I just keep getting ignored.

Any ideas?

I'm having a wee bit of a crisis of confidence at the moment over the stuff I make and the (lack of) selling it. I decided a few days ago that I wasn't even going to try anymore as I felt I couldn't put myself through it anymore. However, I slept on it and decided that I was going to try some positive changes first and give it til the end of the year.

I'm going to start with building a webstore and rebranding, but before I buy a domain name I have to decide whether my name suits.

Very early on I just picked out Domestic Kat Designs cos I'm rubbish with names but I'm beginning to wonder if its really me. I cant help but think that the "Designs" at the end is super poncy so Im pondering whether to drop that and just make it Domestic Kat or perhaps Domestic House Kat. Then I think that these are just super dumb and I cant get any further than that.

Some input from an outsider would be great?

« on: 27 Jul 2009 09:57 »
I made some tshirts for kiddy sized supporters of my team and since 3 of them were for my nephews anyway I asked them to model them for putting up on Folksy. I blogged the result over on my blog.

The Glasgow Tigers will face their biggest challenge yet on Saturday 25 July, when they aim to climb Ben Lomond... in full football kit!

With great hope of post-season football for the first time in 5 years, the Tigers will be doing all they can to raise funds for prospective trips down south.

The team will be leaving sharp on Saturday morning, after getting dressed into their full gameday uniforms, with helmet and pads included!

Defensive back coach Gee Whyte is an avid hillwalker, and thought it would be a great opportunity to get his teammates doing the walk on the week between the Highland Wildcat clashes on July 19 and August 2.

“Ben Lomond isn’t the most challenging trek out there, but in full football kit it will be a different story!”, said Gee.

He continued, “I’m sure the guys will be praying for a little overcast weather and for the sun not to be beating down on us as we make our way up there!”.

As well as raising funds for the team, the boys have elected Ronald McDonald House at Yorkhill Kids Hospital as their charity of choice to donate half of all funds raised for the walk.

In addition to this I have opened up a shop on Folksy that I have donated items into in case anyone wants to donate but would like something for their money :-p

Ive made 2 blog entries since I last posted. One about the insane amount of fabric I got whilst down south (which incidenally has my room overflowing with fabric I have nowhere to put it all. maybe i should replace my hip height unit with like a wardrobe to put it all in)

http://domestic-housekat.blogspot.com/

I have to say I feel things are falling into place a wee bit. Ive been all out of whack for a good wee while but here I am blogging loads about all the stuff I made. And remembering to do it and actually enjoying it. It only actually takes like 10 mins. I hope this lasts I have to say.

Hi there everyone,

Im planning on today at some point setting up a shop and filling it with some of my own stock to raise funds for my American Football team whilst also donating a portion of those takings to a charity (Ronald McDonald House).

My initial thought was Folksy but then I started to wonder if that was the best choice. I know it was having some speed issues but I just went on and it seemed to run ok but at the same time if there are issues  I dont want to annoy people by sending them there to look and then its a bit rubbish.

Out of all the UK based selling websites what would be your preference for this type of shop, bearing in mind that I will be getting the whole team to send everyone they know and their cats over (as opposed to relying on random buying)
