Cardmaking, Scrapbooking and Paper Crafts Forum / Re: Hi I'm Sue from Huddersfield and just joined today. My passion is Cardmaking« on: 16 May 2013 21:26 »
Hi. I make cards too. I have a die-cutting machine, but find the faffing too much effort. I do like it though and there are loads of dies out there. I am more of a stamper really. Welcome to the forum.

I use 350-400gsm for my cards, although less is fine. I get Cobra Smooth 'board' and it is fab! If I am doing loads of matting etc, I used a lighter card, but the Cobra is great for a stamped card.

We used to do a 'The Thursday Night Project' thread every week, but that died a death. Maybe we could start it again and then we could include all crafts...

I am here too. Gave cards a miss for a while, while I was addicted to beading lol. Back on cards now.

Kerry - I would be interested to know how you get on. This craft really interests me too. At Max's parent evening last night, we saw examples of printing with polystyrene which had been etched with biros! It looked great.

I seem to have been drawn back into the card-making side of my crafting. Beading is taking a break for a while, although I am still getting my two fav. mags to see if anything grabs me! Will hopefully be more active on here from now on.

I lost my mojo for a while and then started a job. I got very depressed for a while and, although still beading, didn't do anything about posting or selling, other than on FB. I have now set up the basics of an Etsy shop as I was not selling anything on Folksy. I just can't seem to go ahead and stock it! I also need a decent banner as I don't want to look unprofessional. Photographs of my items also could do with improvement.
Lots to do! How are all of you? 14

Dingle - they are lovely! I made some several years ago. I used acrylic paint and standard varnish. I know what you mean about the paint not seeming to stick, but it does eventually. Mine lasted until last year - approx. 14 years!
