What does Claire need doing?

She needs help approaching blogs to swap magazine ad space for blog buttons and as far as I'm aware nothing has been done on this yet and there are 22 spaces to fill (I think)

I have 3 people set up for having blog buttons. I will email C later on with all my existing advertiser contacts and of course I will have a space myself!  We need a blog button to give to people, and dates of when buttons NEED - I guess it will be 1st July?  Maybe Chick, C and I can set up a little team to try and get this sorted.  Are we going to sell the same size ads as before or just 1/4 page?

OK so there are 23 spaces (1/4 page) - I thought we could trade links for all of them.... I can make the button today- I'm going to have to do it in a way where it's easy to resize to suit different blog templates, I can confirm it will be square though, and hopefully animated, advertising both the forum and the magazine. The swap would be for 3 months starting 1st July so it's the same as the magazine.

Sorry if I am a bit dim!

But

so we are asking people with blogs to trade a space for our button on their blog, for them to have an advertising space in our magazine?

What size advertising space?

Sorry - I can see that you have said quarter of a page.  but what dimension is that?

And presumably they need to provide their own artwork.

Yup- it's the same as on the last rate card which is portrait format A6 size.

I have someone who is interested in a blog/advert swap but needs more info.  Is there someone who can contact her and give her the info?

I've not contacted Claire yet so what I'll do is just post some standard text here and then anyone can copy and paste it and edit it to fit....

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in the link swap at Crafteroo. We would need you to supply us with a portrait format A6 graphic to advertise your website or blog for inclusion in our next issue of the magazine. We need to receive this by 16th June if at all possible due to publication deadlines. Please send to kerry_l_wilkinson@hotmail.com as a jpg, gif or PDF, making sure it's at least 100kb. If files are compressed too much they will look pixelated which isn't good for either of us!

We will send a button over to you in reply to receiving your advert. It is currently 250px square, so please let us know if it won't fit in your template and what (square) size would suit you better if it isn't appropriate. Please set the graphic to go live on your blog or website no later than 1st July so it corresponds with your advert. We will display your advert for 3 months so we would appreciate it if you could do the same for us!

Many thanks

Another blog swap button question - how many readers (approximately) does the magazine have? Just wondering in case anyone asks (and I suspect one of the bloggers I want to approach will ask that very question).

Be optimistic and give issue 1's subscription number ;) Which is 139 copies not including the free ones we gave out to contributors, etc, so not massive but it's quality content so people are more likely to look at the adverts as well as read more than once. Also I'm sure there are lots of naughty people that let their friends have free copies of the PDF. The hits to issue 1's board is currently showing 284 for paid hits, I haven't got stats on the PDF.

Issue 3 is only 24 sales. Yes really it is THAT bad which is one big reason why I am massively disappointed with the whole thing right now (though I remember the stats for Popular Crafts issue 3 and it was appalling too so maybe it's a 3 thing?)
