IMPORTANT

I didn't get anything in on friday to do the sample pages so I'm still unable to publicise the next issue (we've normally had this done for weeks by now) AND we have not got one firm blog advert swap to fill our 8 pages. I haven't heard from several people for weeks now so I'm assuming their on holiday and stuff and they are possibly going to flake which now leaves me with approximately 1/4 of the magazine left to fill with 3 weeks to go, not to mention artworking things up when I only have 2 articles to artwork up so far, so that will be a horrible weekend-losing last minute job at the end I fear.

Please remember this is not a quick job. Each project or article can take around an hour to do, sometimes longer if there are templates, photos that need correction work, etc involved. So we're talking about at least 40 hours and that's not including writing my own submissions. This is why I really need things as early as possible so I can spread them out- there will be a week at the end of this month where I will be making chocolates constantly, so I cannot give any extensions this time unless you can artwork your own page in InDesign and send it to me.

If anyone is able to please help me out please do, I'm thinking of pulling the entire project because I'm not looking forward to the pressure and I only have 2 more days of annual leave before October so I don't want to have to waste them on doing this. The project started out as a collaboration and slowly enthusiasm has tailed off which is making me lose my enthusiasm too.

Thank you.

I have been massively busy with work (doing the job of 2 other people) and have had holidays/house guests, so have had very limited time until now - sorry. I am hoping to get one tutorial done (text and photos) tomorrow, and have an idea for another one, if needed (possibly to replace my Toy Society piece, as I haven't heard anything from my drop  :( ).

I don't know how else I can help either.  :-\

ETA: The blog button thing - not sure I'm understanding this correctly. Are we asking other blogs if they would like to advertise in the mag, in exchange for them displaying our mag/forum button on their page? If so, I might know of a couple of blogs to ask...

Aaagh! I cannot get anything done before Friday as I have volunteered to do some sewing and it is arriving today and has to be done by thurs evening.

You would have thought people would be up for the blog/advert swap.

I wish I could help witht he layout thing but I think it is something only Kerry can do?  Am I correct.  Or is there some way I can do some pages on Word/ or whatever arcane thing I have here and save them as whole pages so you can just slip them into the mag?

Yep, template text here: http://www.crafteroo.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,9447.msg67448.html#msg67448

BBB- I think I am probably the only person here with Adobe InDesign, I am living in hope that someone says yes they have it. Otherwise I can't take anything late :S

So the crunch is ideally I would like all of the ad spaces filling by this time next week and I need a tutorial (not a feature) to me in the next two days.

I have it at work, but haven't used it much at all. So I don't know whether that is any use to you at all.  ;D

I am off to poke some bloggers with a stick. Sort of.   ;)

If it's just answering some questions (a mini interview), then I will volunteer myself. *raises hand*

I have mine done, but I'm not happy with the photos (the light went). I can send it anyway, so you can start doing the artwork, and do a retake over the weekend (or tomorrow after work, if the weather holds)?

Sorry for being absent. I have been off in everything lately. Simply have no mood sitting behind my PC after the day job and the crocheting is also being put in the background. That means basically no crafting and no blogging. I have a few free days ahead so I hope to get back on the tracks at least what's concerned to the magazine.

PS! If I still don't appear here often you can send me a PM as a reminder.

PPS! Working on my tutorial - converting the US terms to UK. My Open Office keeps crashing but I'm determined to finish it.
