Hello everyone.. I'm Mel the new girl from Stroud. I'm here to learn more about papercrafts - I've recently started doing decoupage and i'm loving it. My first project was quite an ambitious chair. Does anyone else do decoupage? I think i need help with things like what kind of paper to use etc. I also crochet. And I'm quite obsessed with Kirstys Homemade home. Haha, I force my 12 year old son to watch it (he secretly loves it im sure)
Workwise I'm an illustrator, but the hobby/work thing tends to cross over, for which i feel really lucky. I run a blog which gives away free resources like Photoshop brushes and patterns. Been doing that for about 5 years.
I look forward to meeting people here, and seeing what everybody does!

Hi mel welcome to the forum. I do decoupage mainly furniture and I use anything I can get my hands on, atlas's, old damaged books, people use fabric too. Sounds like you have the dream job too!

I'm a kirstie fan too, didn't realise she was cath kidstons cousin till recently. I would love to try decoupage and crochet, both on my list of skills to learn but currently focusing on sewing.

I'm moving up to near Gloucester soon, we did look at Stroud but have ended up with Brockworth.

Sorry I really don't like Kirstie, I find her totally removed from the real world, a bit sulky and don't think she should get professional help to win competitions There's a whole thread on that in the rant and rave section anyway...

Hi Mel! Love the sound of decoupage/crocher-ing! Sounds really interesting. From a fellow newbie
