Sensory quilt progress
« on: 5 Feb 2012 23:42 »
Work in Progress, my niece's sensory quilt for her 9th birthday. Many thanks to Claire (md0u0131) for the original idea. All squares are different (recycled or remnants) and now sewn together and onto a child's sleeping bag cut to fit. Quilting done 'in the ditch' and edging machine sewn to the front, just over a quarter of the way round hand sewing it at the back! I'm sewing bells into the edging and there are lots of bits made/ to be made to attach to the velcro on the squares.

What a fantastic idea and I love the fact that you've gathered the fabric together from important (sisters... cousins) other places. So, it's a bit like a memory quilt for everyone around Caitlin too.
