Looking for egg beads
« on: 16 Dec 2010 10:06 »
I'm looking for realistic beads that look like eggs (any size at this stage!) in the UK, anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

or what about getting some fimo in a suitable colour and making your own?

I think the white marble could make a lovely speckled egg :D you could even mix it with beige to get an off-white speckled egg colour ... hmmm. Why not task a "Polyclay" princess to make you some?

Yup can;t seem to find anything else that look reasonably "real"

hmmm ... you could always coat mini-eggs with resin (that's if you can resist eating them! :D )

Thats bordering mini egg abuse that... covering in resin it would take me an age to knaw through it  ;D

 ;D LOL

yeah, now you come to mention it ... it's a very cruel thing to do to a mini egg :-\

and now doubt a health and safety hazard too to any unsuspecting people who think it is a real edible one!

You know ... i think that i am going to give it a go ...  :D
(just received my ice-resin pack today ... watchout mini-eggs  )

If you were going along the resin route, they'd need to be cast rather than coated because they wouldn't last. However I don't fancy making a mould and casting it because it's for a beginner's jewellery tutorial for Easter (yes I have to work ahead to silly dates- I did xmas in September :P) which is why off the shelf would be better and my clay skillz are a bit poor for demonstrating to others  ;D
