Had to make some pieces for the market so did a couple of pot pourri bowls
Spalted mimosa,



This is 15" max with the bowl at 12" and is in Macrocarpa, (Monterrey Cypress) Left heavy with a bit of natural edge
   


and just to keep my hand in this is privet and is 7" dia (where you can measure it) and 4" tall max. Still on the glue chuck as I have a bit more sanding to do (by hand for obvious reasons)
   

All finished with Ren Wax, except the last one which has yet to be finished and taken off the glue chuck.

Critique, criticisms etc welcome.

Beautiful work Mr Bodrighy . . beautiful! . . I especially like the spalted mimosa pot pourri bowl and the privet bowl is stunning . . truly a sculpture!

hi bodrighy long time no chat lol. hope your well my friend. that last piece looks so fragile surely thats not turned on a lathe to get that last shape or is it hand carved completley as not to break the piece. sorry i sound so naive.

Hi Painterman,

I think a lot of us are away from the computer at the moment.

The bowl is totally turned, no carving. The shape is what nature did to it before I got my hands on it and I just work with her. It is pretty strong but yes you do have to be a bit careful at times
