ice-cream cone cakes
« on: 22 Jun 2009 10:34 »
i found these cakes splashed all over the interwebs at the moment - so not sure who to credit them too! these cakes are great for parties  ;D easy for kids to eat and no washing up!

i used my normal cake mixture - 4oz each of butter, sugar, flour, 2x eggs and a generous ammount of cocoa powder. I filled the flat bottomed cones 2/3 full and then baked at 160 for 15/20 mins.

with a little advice from Meri i made my first ever cream-cheese frosting, i could've sworn i'd had some vanilla essence in the cupboard but after starting making it i couldn't find any! So plain it wasn't to my taste so i chucked a load of cocoa powder in of course! I did it in the mixer perhaps too much as it went rather ruuny! so instead of Mr.Whippy i got melted chocolate ice-cream  ;D

finished cake!

i think next time i will do vanilla butter icing Mr.Whippy style with a mini flake in!
