WOOD TYPES
« on: 12 Nov 2008 18:21 »
Hi

I made a new hen today.  I think my wood work is getting better as I couldn't even cut out a heart at first.

I've use ply and mdf before and real wood is best for me.

Does anyone have any favourite types of wood for making small accessories.  Some are more work than others when it comes to sanding and painting.

Hi friend

if you are going to use different woods you should try walnut. Walnut will not splinter and takes detail increadably well. It is a little harder to carve but with sharp chisels carves.  :(
